During the 2025 New York Comic Con, I was hired to take both photos and videos of Mark Clark, who cosplays as Knuckles the Echidna, and his Sonic the Hedgehog Fan Meet Up Event. Using the footage that I was able to acquire from the event itself, as well as a video featuring Scott Dreier, the voice of Knuckles the Echidna, I created something that captured the magic of that day.

While attending NYFA, I had the opportunity to network with new actors as well as filmmakers. At one point, I was the only filmmaker in a class full of actors, and I told them to reach out to me if they ever needed an edit for their reel. One of these students reached out to me with his footage, and asked me to create a scene with what other colleagues of his filmed. In addition to picture editing, I built a soundscape for the scene, some foley, as well as color grading to enhance the image in DaVinci Resolve Studio.

After graduation, I accepted a job as the Video Editor and Social Media Coordinator for PatekTV’s YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, and TikTok channels. This position has allowed me to put my editing skills to the test as editing for a comedy social media page is different from traditional film editing. As a result, I have learned about viewer engagement, viewer retention, Search Engine Optimization, and how to convert footage for optimal vertical viewing using DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Using a combination of both created effects and stock footage, I have started my journey into the world of visual effects. While my skills are at the beginner level, if my workload isn’t too demanding, I follow tutorials online to continue to improve my skills as a visual effects artist.
